Thank you. That completes one of your best compositions in EP 222. A lot of excitement about this one. Can’t wait to get started on it.

Very nice rhythm and fills Brian! Before this micro I was fooling around with the chords in first position and the barre chords up where you played them. I think the fills are better up where you played them . Thanks

Thanks for the follow up . Slap some lyrics and vocals on that… the melody is implied. I hear a great song…

The song I’m hearing is The Walk by Mayer Hathorne. Very cool Brian.

I was expecting them fills to be a lot harder than as they sounded quite technical in the backing track , i did have a go by ear before the lesson was published but lost patience lol should have known it was all off the chord with the pinky and the other side of the A shape . Great stuff quite simple really but very effective . Love the Rhythm part Thanks .

Hi Brian. If you talked about tone settings, I missed it. What pedals and amp effects are you using? Thanks. Love your lessons.

Thanks for this Brian. Can you offer any advice on barring minor chords cleanly? I really struggle to find a placement for my index finger that will hold down the G string in the Bm7. It always sounds muted whatever I do. Thin bony fingers I guess!!
Brian says
I’d just say to pay attention to the leverage you’re getting from your thumb on the back of the neck. Play around with the position of your thumb and you should find a place that allows you to make the barre chord easier
Treblemaker says
I know this is late but have always struggled with that so maybe this will help. What I am doing now is using my flip off finger to hold my pointer finger down. I hope that helps.
Treblemaker says
Quick, easy and consistent. Becomes automatic with repetition.

Brian, you are looking younger! How do you do that? More years more younger haha

Just found this lesson. When I dreamed about learning to play guitar as a teenager, this sound was what I wanted to be able to do. Older arthritic fingers aren’t as flexible as I’d like. That Bm7 chord is a real challenge. To get the little finger pull off, I have to switch the barre to strings 1, 2, 3 and 4. As usual I struggle to find a thumb position to make the barre chords which also allows my middle and ring fingers to bend enough to not mute the string below. Thumb position seem to change depending upon which fret the barre is on. Perhaps I just need to practice more. Thanks for a great lesson.
