Description
In this MicroLesson (ML019), you’ll learn how to have a solo jam session (no accompaniment required). You’ll be playing just 3 chords and will be playing fill licks in-between those chords. I’ll show you how to strum the rhythm part as well as what scales to use for playing the fill licks and where to play them.

Hi Brian,
What happened to your Alvarez Parlor guitar? Its tone and surprisingly big sound is a big plus in understanding your lessons. Anyway, I miss it. Keep up the good work; I am grateful for what I am learning from you.

Man!! This has just opened up a floodgate! A simple minor progression is another key to the puzzle. Didn’t even get through your lesson yet but the possibilities seem endless. Thank you so much Brian. i think Tuesday is my new favorite day.

Oh yea, the Martin is a sweet guitar too.

These micro lessons are brilliant! The Chet Atkins lesson from a few weeks back was the first time I’ve ever managed to really nail down a finger style piece. Something to do with just focusing on a small element without getting distracted or overwhelmed by other stuff.

These mini-lessons are great. While I love the weekly lessons on Friday, truth is I don’t always have the time to work at and practice them. Now, with mini-lessons, I can get great take-aways. Thanks for this great new innovation Brian.

This is a great rhythm and progression. I took me a while to get it. I had to just go from Bm7 to Em7 with the fills, then add the F#7.
The string muting on the F#7 took some practice.
Thanks

I agree. I love these mini lessons. This one has a Santana vibe to it. Very cool and easy. You have a real gift for revealing the little tricks and licks that make easy stuff sound way harder than they really are. Thanks!

Bonjour Everyone,
Well I do agree these micro lessons are very handy! I had the best jamming experience with myself on these three chords, thanks to you Brian! The good news about these micro lessons is that we are learning less by heart on we are forced to bring out our own interpretation, which is exactly what I have been dreaming about for years.. Very clever indeed!
