Loads of good stuff to play and even more to think about…. I always appreciate your breakdowns of where and why, silly people might think you talk too much! I don’t as it helps to develop my knowledge.
Brilliant videos for the subscribers, so thank you!

Thanks a million Brian. Your teaching technique is awesome, and easy for me to comprehend. As always, practice is the key to success. I love the vintage sounds such as this video, and please keep them coming!! I’d like to try more country riffs and licks, so hopefully you could add a few more country style videos for us to try out. Please keep up the good work!!

Brian,
You have done it again….. I was 17 years old wearing Bass Weejuns and playing rock and roll in 1968. Thanks took me back. You should hear this on a Taylor 520 ce! Man it is hard on 63 year old fingers, but GREAT on a 63 year old rock and roll players heart. Loved the lesson works in great with the lesson on pentatonic in the key of E lead that you did a while back. You said you can work this all over the neck, and now ya backed it up. Appreciate all the hours of enjoyment, I am a second year prem., member. Like the new format of 3 screens. Specially the third. Play that one then come back and take the class. Helps this Slow learner to visualize the whole picture first….I have the attention span of a three year old. So if I know the whole picture Nice and slow helps to practice in context then the lessons flow easier for me. Thanks for the “Training Wheels”’ so to speak. Any way thanks for helping an old picker at a great price.

Brian, I’m so pleased to have found your web-site and your model is ideal for my needs, great mix of playing broken down into manageable pieces with explanation that I can understand! Also great to split the lessons to provide the patience and nail part 1 before jumping to part 2.
I’ve purposely not upgraded to premium yet, that happens in February as I’ve been absorbing the the last 3 lesson part 1 lessons; electric vintage, rhythm fill in and blues acoustic. My reward is Premium membership February whey hey!
Thanks again…….from another Brian

Yes, a winner for sure. Love the riffs. The bends are so effective and not too difficult. I also appreciate the explanations of how the scales intertwine. You provide so much useful information in your lessons Brian.

Wow! That’s a lot of fun, thanks for posting. I think my favourite part is the lick at the turnaround. Very sweet!
jeffh5 says
Great job. I learned this in a matter of minutes and played it with the backing track for an hour. Fun stuff.
radio says
When you say “my tone control is at 10 per cent”, do you mean that it’s at 10 on the knob (which it looks like in the vid) or do you really mean 10% of full range??
I ask because you go on to give the values, in per cent, on the Boss Blues Driver and I don’t know if you mean 10 on the knob (full open) or 10% which would be about ‘8 o’ clock’ on the knob.

Thanks for all you do Brian, really helping me piece together this whole guitar thing, loving the practical theory you throw in.
Walter S says
While I don’t like to contradict someone who has forgotten more about playing guitar than I will ever know I will say that my age does have one advantage and that is that I’ve been around longer than you. You mention in your lesson here that this is kind of a “Chubby Checker” style of music.
I must beg to differ. I think you meant to say “Fats Dominoe” who, while being a piano player, did specialize in this type of music ala “Blueberry Hill”.
“Chubby Checker” who became famous in 1960-1961 with “The Twist” was not known for the type of music in this lesson.
No offense meant sir, as I think you are a fantastic player and teacher and I wish I had one half your musical talent! Notice I didn’t say “one tenth”? That’s because I’d rather have more of your talent than just one tenth.
Sincere best wishes,
Walt

Great lesson Brian, just came on board for premium and I have to say it’s exactly what I was looking for . I’m working through the basic lessons to find the gaps in my playing style. I’ve looked through the library and have a few favorites saved that I’m working on. The trains finaly on the tracks and I’m rolling on!

Brian, Please do more of this style of playing.Somehow I passed over this one after becoming a member.I was raised on this kind of sound.Love it,and hope you you do some more.
