Description
In this guitar lesson, you’ll learn how to take 3 chords (A, C, and D) and play lead fill-licks in between the chords. This allows you to have a jam session with yourself, no accompaniment required. You’ll learn the scales that are used as well as the rhythm strum pattern that’s used. Your goal should be to learn how to extend this by adding your own fill-licks, so that you can jam as long as you want.

That G note/bend intro also reminds me of the beginning of my favorite Moody Blues tune (Story in Your Eyes) too!!

Oh Boy!!! My neighbors are in big trouble!!! Thanks for this one Brian.
Mark
I think Havasumark’s neighbors are heading for the blues
I was in the mood for a good rock lead. Thanks, Brian.

Sweet! Very nice Brian!
Brian, again another great lesson. I’m some what confused on the chord progression I instead of it being a 1,4,5 it’s a 1,3,4 progression.
It’s actually a 1 flat 3, 4 progression. ..very basic blues rock….try in addition to throw in a flat 7 ( G in this case ) and you will immediatly become a huge rock star.
Brian, you need to create some bad/cr@p lessons…. Every week the next lesson is as good or better than the previous, i just can’t keep up. Thank you!
On the 3rd strum, I knew I was going to dig this one! It’s time I quit making excuses and get those barre chords down. This is the one to force that on me!
Thanks Brian! You rock brother!
Jim
This is so cool. Tom
I just had the most fun playing my guitar that I ever had! This lesson, EP151 (not even all of part 1) created an aha moment.
Thanks Brian, for making these lessons.

always thanks, Brian. It would be much better if you post up the accompaniment MP3 tracks.

Nice save on the run through at the end on the A!
ACDC !
Thanks Brian. Let’s crank it up!
This Newbie says, “Crank It UP!!!!”
Brian you are the master! Great lesson. So many “take-aways” It took me about an hour of sticking with it to get the rhythm down. and incorporate some of the lead.
Thanks Brian for that as always,
am I wrong when hear a Keith Richard’ s strumming?

Outstanding lesson and love the gritty tone
Lots of classic play in the box riffs over each chord..great way for beginners to learn timing which is so important.. Definitely about getting the Groove going and improve from there..As easy as some of Brian’s lessons are..I like to sink into each and everyone! Timing is everything and easy lessons help me understand more about why I mess up a lot of stuff I try to play appropriately/IN THE GROOVE /To The beat…Brian’s site has jamtrack soundslice and Great slow to the point turtorials
Another good fun lesson! I think I’ll put on a nice drum track and practice with that. Then maybe I’ll make my own rhythm guitar track and record it on Garageband for use as a jamtrack.
Great lesson. Nice work Brian!
Fun one.
Another great lesson. I would be really interested in learning more about the fill-licks behind the chords and how they relate to scales. As you say, a good way to spice up rhythm playing .
Love this lesson. Coming along slow but feels so good. Thanks Brian
Another Great lesson Brian .

just subscribed. obviously a good idea! Great work especially all these lessons combining rhythm and lead – its exactly what i was looking for! keep on that great work and thanks a lot man!
Really amazing! I dont find any MP3 for this lesson..is it available or we can download only the tabs?
Dario, this one is specifically designed without a jam track (the title says “No Accompaniment”)
rally struggling on the rhythm, can any one break it down in simpler terms, i just can’t seem to get it at all
Hey Brian,
Which model Gibson Les Paul are you using here?

Tim
