This is why I love Brian’s lessons so much……..pertinent great timing lesson put out there for us of a very vital subject……..learning great intros………endings………..and how these fit into the body of a cool blues song or vamp!! Brian gets us all thinking outside the box but then his lessons are so complete and well thought out that he doesn’t allow us to get lost around that box!! We should always be thinking of how to start/end a tune…………and even consider the turn arounds or even cool separate guitar parts we can invent on our own from all this shared ActiveMelody knowledge to impress ourselves (and others) taking the basics and concepts from Brian and creating our own parts or variations!! Man……….that L.P. sounds as nice as just about any other guitar Brian plays……….this was quite the steal as I recall Brian sharing with us…….I’ll say this……Brian has me constantly going to the sales section of our Guitar Center and checking for my own bargains……….much to the chagrin of my fed up wife who for some reason doesn’t buy into the ole ‘He who dies with the most guitars……wins!!’ philosophy, dammit!! This will probably be Jim Irsay though!! Jim C.

Hey Jim, I’m so with you on that! Every single Brian’s lesson is just an absolute gem and the hardest part for me is to gather all my willpower and just stick to what I’m learning and not jump into the new one every week. Brian’s thoughtfulness and ingenuity he puts into those lessons will never cease to amaze me. And that also goes for the gear he demonstrates, he’s the best advertisement for whatever guitar he plays that I think the gear makers should pay him for that! There’s a lot of good guitar teachers out there but nobody has ever got me so excited about learning guitar nor amazed me with their gift for making it seem so attainable. This lesson is another must-know and I can’t wait to get started with it.

Being a newer member here I have enjoyed Brian’s teaching techniques and several different tools ie; tab, background track with and without guitar and video tab. I have found the backing track with guitar great for helping with my timing and when I think I have it down I go to the backing track without guitar and try it…………..funny how you can find yourself waiting for that guitar to kick in and totally miss your start 🙂 Oh well, I’ll keep after it………

Thank you, Brian, for another spectacular lesson!

Thanks, Brian great lesson as usual. By the way you have a nice piece of wood in your hands!!! Great looking guitar,Brian!!! And sounds very well!!
Cheers,Ron

Ron: Now ask Brian how much he shelled out for that sweet Les Paul!! It’ll knock your socks off plus get you paying closer attention to any bargain rack of guitars at your favorite music store!! Jim C.
OK: Because Brian already broadcasted this I’ll tell you………..a mere $199 USD!! I am so envious!! He had some typical work done on it but this is still a fraction of what it’s worth!!

Brian-another great lesson. I really like that you threw in some lead stuff too-which makes these much more interesting AND a lot more enjoyable to practice. The rhythm parts sound pretty basic-but what about starting up the micro lessons again-by doing one on the rhythm parts to these?

The most fun I have had this week. I have learned more from you in a year than I had without you in ANY prior decade! Thanks!

You other guys have just about covered it ‘tho I think Brians latest bargain has a better sound to my ears than the great L.P. ,but ‘Horses for courses’

I am wondering about the chord progressions. Are these 8 bar blues progressions?
