I’ve been waiting for a Chet lesson! Thanks Brian.
What guitar is that?
Wide Sky P125, I believe
Love it!! Thanks Brian
Chet’s legacy lives on.
This will take some work, Good.
It will be fun to play after many weeks of practice.
I’d forgotten how much fun fingerstyle can be. Great lesson. 2 bars down, 19 to go.
Always loved the way Chet played. Thanks for this lesson. Thanks for all you do. Dave
Brian,
thanks for spending this lesson on one of my fingerpicking hero’s Chet Atkins.
Wil
Thank you Brian. I’ve been (slowly) turning the corner with Travis picking and sorely needed one of your lessons to shine the light on what it is I’m trying to accomplish. It’s a really cool feeling when you finally get locked in but I needed something to help me stay locked in. I think this lesson is the ticket, thanks again.
Oh boy!… this one is a challenge. But what a great sound in the end result. Thank you for pushing my playing ability!
This lesson is absolutely awesome! I have attempted many times over the years to learn Chet / Travis style picking but never really got it down. Maybe this time I will!
Thank you Brian for the excellent teaching and encouragement !
This is an awesome lesson .thank you …I’m seeing incorporating things that I’ve picked up from previous lessons with this clearly, that whole improv stuff clicks.
Thank you buddy
A great fingerstyle lesson.
Thanks Brian
Great lesson! I primarily play finger style and I want to encourage those who are new to it to give it a go. As Brian has said it is challenging and can be frustrating but with persistence it is extremely rewarding. This takes years to truly perfect but is an impressive skill for any guitarist. Once you can get your thumb independent and make the bass parts almost second nature you’re there.
Perfect!
Nice! Any chance you could do an other upbeat Albert Collins inspired lead lesson like you’re Leg002, it was awesome . Love it when I can find it without a capo and standard you’re
Really get into him lately..
Thanks,
David
BRIAN. BEEN A CHET FAN SINCE FOREVER. TOOK MY 14/15 YEAR OLD SON, WHO IS NOW 61, TO LONDON AND SAW HIM LIVE. WHAT A NIGHT ! ! THANK YOU FOR THIS INSIGHT INTO HIS MAGIC. tONY

Thanks Brian, great lesson. I like fingerpicking very much, Marcel
Love it! It also has a rockabilly vibe that reminds me of the great Brian Setzer
Thanks so much Brian for this new Chet Atkins style piece. I love this style and often look back for them in the Active Melody style catalogues !! looking forward to the next piece.
Great Lesson Brian! You nailed it! Chet is in my top 5 favorites.
Love this one, Brian. Thanks for another Chet style lesson. I loved the ‘Neck and Neck’ album too. Those guys were amazing, trading licks while joking around. I know you’ve got a lot more student’s that use a flat pick than finger style so thanks again for this gem.
James
Nice. I don’t do much Chet, with Travis being easier (less difficult). This is a great way to get a little closer to Chet’s style. Thanks.
My head hurts
My fingers too!
This is indeed a BIG challenge but a lot of fun to mess with. Love this style
Loving this one Brian. Thank you…..again!
This piece is gold and I am always looking to improve my fingerstyle. Still, I will put this out there–this one is DIFFICULT. It will take some time for many (me ;-)). Still, I think the reward for persistence will be huge.
Great song. My fourth string is weak on the G7 chord. Any tips on how to make the strings even on this bar chord?
The hammer-on gives me a hard time.
Wow…That G13 measure is a killer to learn. Gonna be tough to get past that.
Thanks Brian , great lesson. you got me playing this stuff pretty good now. It really is a lot of fun . went thru the travis picking book and a couple others. But you’re the one that started me on this journey and i can’t thank you enough.
Brian, thanks so much for this lesson. It is an excellent way for me to kickstart my new year here. Always learn something.
Thanks Brian. This is a real finger twister. If you have any advice on how to develop the dexterity to get some of these chord tones to ring clear … please do share. Especially measure 8 (G13). I will keep chipping away at this one. Thank you. Pap
Great lesson, thanks Brian. I try to learn Travis pickingstyle and this lesson was a great help.I can play it pretty good now.
Got most of it except bars 8 and 9. Seems to challenge my coordination. Thanks Brian awesome piece.
As I said before, I like this style of playing very much and hope there will be similar lessons in the near future. Thank you again Brian, Marcel
This was incredible and thank you for the Chet recommendations at the end. Can’t wait to dive in
