Hello everyone. I’ve been a member for a while but just didn’t realize how many of the resources on here that I’m not taking advantage of. It’s a lot to take in and keep up with. I really love Brian’s teaching style and approach and it just makes sense to me. I guess for that reason I’ve just been plugging away but I realized I’m doing it alone and there’s a whole community of people here that I’ve been missing out on. I’m going to do better and try to share more and connect with all the folks out there in this community. Thanks for listening!

Howdy Alex,
Welcome to the forum. It’s a great place to connect with members from all around the globe on lots of topics. Lessons, technique, questions, gear, showcase your playing, etc. to name a few. Fill in a bit of your profile page to get acquainted.

Great decision, Alex. This forum offers so many opportunities to connect with the other AM members. The two most powerful ways in my opinion is at first to take part in the monthly challenges, a great way to enchance your guitar skills and to get in touch with other members at the same time. You just missed this opportunity last weekend, but there will be another chance next month.
The second possibility is to join in in a AM Zoom Meeting, to connect with other AM members all over the world directly and talk about our guitar experiences. You have the next opportunity this Saturday. Look at the announcement in the link directly below. It would be great to meet you on one of these occasions.
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom.
The next Meetup will take place sometime in December/January.There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum by beginning of december at the latest.
I look forward to meet you.

Manfred,
Thanks for the links! I appreciate your advice and suggestions. I’ll check out zoom. I haven’t ever used it as I haven’t needed it in the past. I know lots of people got started using it for business during the pandemic. I’m a boat captain so I don’t really use it for business 😂I look forward to meeting more people and learning!
All the best,
Alex

Hi Alex. Welcome to the forums. I joined AM just about 1 year ago and find the forums just as valuable as the great lessons.

Pretty funny, Alex. I did the same thing when I first joined. I just focused on the lessons for about a year, then one day I wondered “What is that tab that says Forum?” and I clicked on it, and a whole new world opened up to me. I reckon 2/3 of what I know about guitar playing comes from Brian’s lessons, and 1/3 comes from knowledge I’ve obtained from the forum.

Hey Alex, just thought I’d chime in & let you know I couldn’t agree more with your statement. I’ve been here going on 3 years & enjoy Brian’s teaching style. It’s the best site I’ve found.
Enjoy the Forum!
