Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve posted as life has gotten very busy, managed to record this in time for this months challenge. Decided to go different and do some reggae this time, so found a simple drum track online and recorded the guitar/bass parts following the chord progression of the challenge.

I normally despise the auto-wah but figures you could make it sound great, Nick, especially with the added delay. What are you using for your effects here?

Thanks John! Haha I would usually never grab an effect like that too. I was in a hurry to get this submitted in time and it’s uniqueness gave me that extra bump of inspiration I needed to lay down some kind of lead.
Effects are light overdrive and delay from my pedalboard and then an auto wah that comes with my DAW – Logic Pro.

Very creative touch , you use the wah to great effect, the simple backing track lends itself well to the reggae sound .

It was great to hear your choice of Reagge, Nick, as I just recently watched the “One Love” film. Your bass and lead lines capture the Reggae feel really well – while also reflecting your own phrasing magic. I also appreciate your effect choice as bold and surprising, and sounding good. Cheers, Tom

Thank you Tom. That film is on my watchlist. Glad you enjoyed it and it came out sounding like reggae 🙂

I have waited for a reggae submission this month and finally here it is. Thank you for that, Nick. And the Wah effect, you use, gives it a special flavour. Very well done, but far too short!

Hi Nick, I absolutely loved this! What a unique and fun sound you created with the reggae rhythm and the effect on your lead. And, so well phrased! Had me smiling from note one!

Oh, that was brilliant, like a breath of fresh air! Loved the reggae rhythm approach with the spunky wah effect – not sure what the real name of that effect was but it sounded fantastic! The solo was pro level, loved the licks on the bass strings in contrast to the higher notes and the way your fingers moved so smoothly. So good though a bit short – so I listened to it a few times 🙂

This challenge has produced a surprising number of different styles and takes on the four chords. I think this is the only reggae – and it sounds super. Your backing track was really good and the bouncy lead had my feet tapping. Well done.

Nice one, Nick. I tried some reggae over the chord progression, but I couldn’t make it sound nice, as you have done.
