I’ve just completed building a new Pedal Board and now I’m considering what type and brand of power supply I should purchase. I currently run 4 X 9v pedals at 100ma and one Trio Plus at 800ma.
The online retailers are inundated with different types and prices. Any suggestions based on your experiences (with a hum-free pedal board) would be most welcome.Richard

I would choose as follows:
If you only have one power source, you reduce the hum risk.
In addition, all outputs should be filtered.
The outputs should be short-circuit protected.
And, the outputs should be switchable with different voltages. If you reduce the tension for an overdrive, the sound is a bit warmer; maybe interesting! And, the newer effect devices sometimes like more than 9 volts.Product as an example
Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-2 ProI would like to think in that direction.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Thanks for your reply Wilfried, the Harley Benton looks pretty good, however it is not available in UK.

Richard,
I’m using a 1Spot Pro CS-12. 12 ouputs may be overkill for you but all the ouputs are isolated, it offers multiple 9V 100 ma outputs but also 2 18V 100 ma outputs. I bought it because it also offers 2 each of 250 and 500 ma ouputs for some of the newer pedals like Strymon. It has one 800ma ouput but for AC current, not sure what your Trio needs.

Thanks Billy, I took a note of this one on your pedal board build project a month or two ago. Just out of interest, how many pedals do you run off it?
Cheers

Hi Richard, only 6 pedals but as you can see there are 10 power points in total because not all pedals take the same Ah.
The Caline comes supplied with ten link cables so you don’t have to buy anything other than the patch cables, I bought a 6 set of Fender brand patch cables though other brands are available....Billy..

I’d say 1Spot is the most widely used. I just use the basic plug in the wall power supply with a chain of plugs, but the new version looks pretty sweet.

Many thanks chaps for your kind responses to my power supply question. After perusing the options I have ordered a Truetone 1 SPOT Pro CS6, my decision was influenced on what you advised and the fact that this one has enough outlets and is a ‘low profile’ shape which I can house underneath the pedal board.
Thanks again …..Richard
