Be kind to yourself (especially when you're trying to play this instrument!)

What? I was sure you would play some incredibly complex jazz version using lots of 9, 11, 13, sus, aug, and dim chords, and with chromatic scales filled with blue notes, and maybe some modes thrown in. But instead, you went for the flatpicking version. And well played. I should have brought my uke over and played a backup strum.

Hi Cloughie, you’ve got this back-porch, relaxed picking going on recently… just great. Seems like a great place to hang out for while. Nice flatpicking rendition. I especially like that single line section in the middle with, was it minor (?). Sounded somewhat modal maybe. Anyway, it was a good listen!

I’ll bet you just picked up your guitar and did that off the cuff? Masterful!

Very relaxed, but interesting, rendition Brian. Your harmonised section followed by the minor section made it for me.

Cloughie
Nicely picked and strummed. I like how you moved out of the first position and proceeded up the neck. Love me some Carter Style picking. Smooth and melodic. Well done.John

So, while nature is breathing into your mic, you throw in a minor passage to keep us listening carefully. Clever. The whole thing was well executed and clean and evidence you know what you are doing.

Very relaxed, cool and enjoyable rendition! The second in cycle in minor was a stroke of genius!

Well played Cloughie, wonderful back porch playing. Is that the wind or thunder in the background? Thunder would be appropriate as you enter the gates! Anyway really fine playing.

Nice chord and lead runs!!! I love how you went “minor” sounding in the middle. Classic Bluesy. Well done!

Nice porch pickin Brian. Sounding good, the minor turn was unexpected, but cool and unique.

Nice submission Brian! Love the relaxed mood, that is what I think we all aim to… Sitting on a porch and playing like breathing, going from one neck position to the other, exploring different voicings without even thinking about it, so natural… But with an exellent result as yours! Congrats!
