Here are 3 of my favorite go-to licks, done in the key of A but they’re movable:
#1, the old reliable 3rd-string bend from the 7th fret to match the 5th fret of the 2nd string
#2, the combination of the 7th fret 2nd string played with the 8th fret of the 1st string
#3, a 3-chord run to throw into a blues progression, a nice way to get back to the I chord
I mentioned Duke Robillard in here because I got lick #3 from him. It’s a big band type progression that sounded familiar but I never would have figured it out on my own. But for all these licks you really have to credit T-Bone Walker.
Just focus on the notes you DID get right . . . Frank Vignola

Hey Bruce! Unsurprising that you and I chose at least one of the same lick 😉
That #1 I did as a slide instead of a bend, without T-Bone you don’t get Chuck Berry!
Love the #2, diminished sound, use it all the time.
Have heard that #3 a bunch but not seen it displayed before, gonna get that in the repertoire! Loved seeing Duke at the Redwood Coast festival, man, you gotta make it up there.

Wonderful explanations too Bruce.
And, can move around in different chords

Some interesting licks Bruce with a thorough explanation. Your finishing piece playing the licks in context was a good finale.

This lesson alone was worth the price of admission. Really like this genre and the lick moves. Ready to put this into practice thanks to the explanation and context of your content. Great submission in going the extra mile Bruce

Nice presentation Bruce , I like all three of those licks , the third one has a unique little move , good to hear them all in context at the end , you could get a lot of mileage out of just those three.

Some cool licks in there, the first one definitely a classic every guitar player should know. Lick #2 was my favorite!
A nice educational showcase, Bruce! The demo at the end was right on fantastic!🎸JoLa

Very cool lesson, Bruce. Loved your Lick #3. So cool! I had never heard of that combo A6/A9 ending chord before. I don’t believe that Brian has talked about this chord before in any of his lessons that I can recall. I tried playing those three chords together in lick #3 just as you showed and sounded great. Also, very easy to get to just as you showed!
The little demo you showed at the end with all three licks 1-3 together was super. Damn, I need to learn to do this on top of a backing track like that. So simple looking but sounds so powerful.
Great and thanks for posting,
