Hi all, my name is Brian B. And I am new to the forum and to A.M.
I have played for about 55 years and now at 65, and retired, I want to spend more time trying to improve my playing ability.
Music always took 2nd place in my life to Sports and Drag Racing but now I can finally concentrate on music.
I have checked out a few other online places but Brian has created a very unique “Community” here that I am very excited to become a part of.
Only being here a week I have already learned more than I have in a long, long time.
Thank you for allowing me into the Group….. -

Welcome Brian,
Fellow Canadian here in Mississauga, Ontario.
We are always eager to hear new voices on the forum. I’m sure you have much to contribute. Please feel free to ask questions, the members are very helpful.
Brian just anounced the monthly challenge. If you feel so inclined please join us. We can help if the recording and video process is new to you.John

Welcome to Am Brian! Plenty to do and learn here, and hope you enjoy the site! Nice looking wheels you have there! I’m sure it’s fast! Ran a 383 Cuda at the drags back in the early 70’s, but a house and family kind of slowed that down!
For the money, you just can’t beat this site! -

Welcome to AM Brian.
It’s always nice to have a new member join us. The lessons here are extremely awesome and the forums loaded with info and active participation.
Recording yourself is a great way to monitor your improvement. Posting samples of your playing in the “Showcase Your Playing” forum will get you plenty of encouraging feedback. And participating in the monthly challenges is fun and educational!
Hope to hear from you again in the forums and hear some of your playing too!

Welcome Brian!
Your story sounds real familiar. Lots of us have played early in life and then gotten more serious after retirement. We live in So Cal and vacationed up your way a few years ago in Vancouver, Whistler and Victoria. I also rode to Banff and Calgary. BC days was a hoot!Mike

Yep, I reckon almost everyone who lived in a dormitory at college or university learned how to play the basic cowboy chords. And it seems that’s like riding a bike: You don’t forget. So 50 – 60 years later when we pick up a guitar again, we get a bit of a jump start, because – strangely enough – we can still remember those cowboy chords. But nobody ever taught us the pentatonic scales, the CAGED system, how triads work, etc, etc. So that’s why we’re all here now.
Welcome!

Welcome Brian
By coincidence my name is Brian B ,too. I’m a long time fan of AM. I’m just across the river in Maple Ridge if you want to compare notes or meet up I’m at 604-466-5287. I’ve been playing mostly for my own enjoyment since retiring at age 66 ten years ago.
