I came across a Peavey Vypyr 75 chassis for sale on Ebay and it confirmed my suspicions about modeling amps
As you will see, there are 3 small circuit boards in this amp and the only part of the total circuitry that isn’t shown is the power transformer.
One of the circuit boards is the power supply. The one that is mounted upright on the ‘wall’ of the chassis is the pre-amp/power amp. The one larger square IC chip is probably a programmable DSP IC that is programmed by the firmware each time the amp is powered up. The 3rd board is for the front panel controls.
All of the parts are tacked onto these board by a machine, its then fed into a machine that solders the parts to the board, then its fed into another machine that washed the soldering paste off of the board. Finally, a tech probably attaches the board to a test fixture that does a resistance & continuity test on it before its sent to the assembly line.
Cost of these boards is so low that I doubt that any board that has need of repair is ever repaired but rather replaced with a different one
