I have a Tube Screamer and a Boss
blues Driver pedal and a volume pedal and an echo pedal. I have a Fender super champ x2 amp. A Bugera 22 watt amp. A Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 40 watt amp. A Marshall DSL 20 watt amp. How can I get a Hendrix close sound with any of these amps and pedals. HELP. New to guitars.

There are a lot of videos on You Tube of players going after Jimi’s tone
You would really need to approach it for specific songs because he changed his tone as his career progressed and it would depend on each album on each song
One pedal that you are missing is a Uni-vibe pedal, many clones are available
One thing for sure – Jimi played loud LOL

Hi Brian,
I think you could get close to the “Wind Cries Mary” sound with the Hot Rod Deluxe and the tubescreamer. I would set the tubescreamer to have the amp break up break up when you dig into the strings and fairly clean when you play more softly. Jimi’s signature tone was with a Marshall stack turned up to 10 played through a stratocaster into a wah pedal, fuzz and uni-vibe.

I have a Super Champ X2, and the variety of sounds you can get from it are pretty amazing. I would try one of the Marshall voice settings (80’s British) and try various combinations of the on-board effects. You should be able to get very close to the sound you want.
