I recalled learning those dyads a long time ago in lesson EP027, so I modified it a bit and added some licks over it and came up with this. I recorded the audio using a Zoom H1 Essential, then synced it with the video in Final Cut Pro. How did I keep the beat consistent as I changed instruments? I listened to a metronome beat from an app on my Airpods Pro. It worked great!

Very nice, Steve. Love the way you worked in your own melody on three different instruments to Brian’s lesson. The opening riff reminds me of Miles Davis’ “All Blues”.

Hi Steve, I thoroughly enjoyed that. What a great soundtrack to accompany my lunch today! Love the blend of instruments. That remote mic is sounding really great.

Some bad ass pickin’ and harp playin’ to match the bad ass foliage.
This was one of your best. The mandolin had an interesting delay/reverb tone, but my favorite is the plain old work on the guitar. Excellent composition and technical work to produce a really lovely and jaunty piece of music. -

That’s an oldie you pulled out of the hat Steve , love the way you used that groove as a solid base for your other instruments they all sound great especially the mandolin , looks like you’ve got to grips with the new mic , superb recording.
Nice weather as well , it’s a lot colder in the uk at the moment.Martin

Hi Steve,
great submission – as always.
You made a superb choice using four instruments – and you play all those instruments just perfect.
Thank you,
Werner. -

Love your expanding bag of recording tricks and the scenery. I’m staring at a snowy landscape.
I remember EP 027. At the time of first learning it I don’t think I could have imagined adding multiple instruments and melodies. Goes to show how far you’ve come.

Steve,
Great riffs on the guitar and the mandolin rounds out the melody as does the harmonica. Sweet stuff. Your sound quality is fantastic. Maybe we could get another lesson? Your sound quality is impeccable. Sounds studio professional.John

That sounded great Steve. And the scenery was a bonus! But really, awesome job on all those instruments. I especially liked the harmonica…you should include it more often!

People often say that once you learn how to ride a bike, you never forget. But that’s not true for a harmonica. All my harmonica licks have to be used fairly often to keep them fresh in my head.

Brilliant production Steve and a really catchy song. I’m sure that riff is more complicated than it sounds – but it sounds perfect. Professional quality stuff.

A true multi-instrumental delight, Steve! It had this intoxicating vibe that I could just listen to all day long. A brilliant way to show your multi-instrumental, recording, and arranging skills – not to mention the videography! Such a pleasant peaceful little corner of the World you have there, brilliantly put together, I could almost feel the heat ☀️

Thanks for that lovely little concert, Steve. EP027 sounded so familiar, that was nice. It sounded really beautiful, I particularly liked the mandolin. And I am quite surprised by the sound quality of the Zoom. I couldnt hear any white noise, it’s almost DAW-quality.

What a nice multi-instrumental submission Steve! Thanks also for the inspiration on EP027

WOW, Steve that really sounded awesome and with every instrument my joy of hearing this tune increased. Great delay effect on the mandolin.
Brilliant video work; good idea how you changed positions and using the ZOOM H1 really worked out.
Now I cannot wait until it is summer here and I can record an outdoor video, too. 😊👍🏽👍🏽Bluesige Grüße

Fantastic! You get credit X 4! Your developing of that melody is masterful. I did the same thing with the metranome ….piped it into my hearing aids:) It woks good but its another moving part…. start the DAW recording, metranome, video source (mine is a GoPro) and looper plus some volume adjustments on the guitar along the way….playing the music with all that going on …challenging. You nailed it! I want to move to where you are…it looks peacful.
Nice job Steve!

Oh I love that old Brian’s lesson! Need to check it. I very much like the melody you played over the rhythm. Great Mandolin and Harmonica…sounding soo bluesy. Very well played. Inspiring!!!

Very nicely done Steve, really enjoyed the multiple instruments version. You really nailed that groove and kept that steady tempo. That H1E records great sounds, doesn’t it? Great submission!
