EP601 was a good learning experience for me. I appreciate the chance to try to improve a melodic line harmonizing with the chords. I had the feeling that I wanted to put some more melodic phrases into it, but I was happy to keep with the goal of tracking along the backbone of the song while improving. Spots, where I am debating with myself about where the melody should go produced hesitation and a few blundered notes…. so somethings to work on. Great playing everyone!

Adam,
Nice job on this one. You picked a perfect tempo for this challenge. I like the hammer ons used so you could scratch your face…Im filing that away for future use.
Cheers. Pap

Very cool, Adam! I wish I had the courage to just let go and freely improvise like that. There are no wrong moves or notes like that, just exploration. A challenge well done.

Great job improvising this piece freely, Adam. And it sounds very pleasing throughout. Your spontaneity has given you some nice lead lines. I enjoyed listening!

Good ear, Adam. Something I’m trying to work on, finding a target note to suit the underlying progression. I’m starting to consider what notes are in each chord, see triads, arpeggio or CAGED shapes, be more aware of the notes on the fretboard. There’s no end to the learning.

That’s a great idea Adam just following the track and letting your ear guide you
There was not a wrong note throughout, a very worthwhile exercise and you put your own stamp on it .
Well done.Martin

Nice accompaniment Adam. You certainly find the target notes, create fine melody in the chord progression. Great tone as well.

Hi Adam, you found some nice melodic lines in there. Your tone was great for the track, too. It had a resonator sound to it. I enjoyed it!

Great vibrato and effective use of string bending, Adam. Nice rendition of this lesson with your own melody lines.

After what you said I was expecting something pretty lame. But no, quite the opposite – I thought it was brilliant. Well played Adam! Parts of it sounded like a pedal steel to my ignorant ears.
