This was a welcome challenge, as I’ve been working on 2 string harmonies. Specifically using them to connect various CAGED voicings. So I treated this as a training exercise for fretboard mapping.
I used 537 as a starting point, a simple 1-4-5 lesson. In addition to the 2&4 string harmonies I used the lead from 537, some other harmonies (strings 1&2 and 2&3)- and as I’ve been really into 602 I threw in the “triangle+rectangle” box at the end. 🙂
Cheers!

That was good Alan! Love this shuffle blues feel. You played fluidly all over the neck and connected shapes well with harmonized lines.

Fats Domino type of backtrack with a touch jazz with the solo.
Very nice Alan.AndréM

Followed the changes so nicely, Alan, with a relaxed jazzy sound. Didn’t even notice that little cutie beside you for most of the tune.

Very nice, Alan. Your training exercise with that cool backtrack makes for a hip sounding tune. I really enjoyed it and admire your discipline in learning these skills.

You made that look too easy, Alan. Excellent arrangement which you have obviously been practicing most of your life.

You made your “exercise” sound nice and melodic, Alan. Loved the relaxed swing of the shuffle, it seems like you have mastered the harmonies in a few places on the neck. The ending slide was such a classic. I thought the sleeping beauty was a Chihuahua until she turned into a sweet sleepy kitty, haha!

Alan, that was making excellent use of harmonies and it didn’t sound like an exercise at all. I find this very enjoyable to listen to. Listening to all the other contributions but this one in particular makes me think I should study harmanies much more intensively. There is so much you can do with it.

Such a nice jazzy vibe Alan, well done!

This kind of shuffle lends itself perfectly to this challenge and you made a real show of it. Along with the tone of that guitar, your playing had a wonderfully relaxed yet deliberate and upbeat sound. Nicely performed.

Well, I admit I usually don’t like the jazzy type of music, but this one made me tap my toe.
Thank you,

That was really well played! You really seem relaxed and your thinking several moves ahead. Nice timing. I like what Steve said above….I appreciate how much effort goes into sounding as good as you do. Cheers. Pap

Nicely done Alan. Not only a great way to learn fretboard maps, but also it sounded great. Love the bends and harmonized slides.
