January 2024 Challenge topic in Brian’s own words:

“For this month’s challenge I thought it would be good to see what licks you can come up with using the 4 note scale pattern technique that was discussed in EP549.

Feel free to use any jam tracks from ActiveMelody or even create your own, the idea behind this challenge is to hear the 4 note scale pattern technique being used when playing lead. I think it will be interesting to hear what everyone does with it.

Even if you choose not to participate in this challenge, this technique is incredibly useful because it forces you to really understand the scale you’re applying it to, and by practicing it, you will improve your left / right hand synchronization.”
