In case you haven’t seen them yet, Otis Gibbs has a great interview program. This one happens to be J.D. Simo talking about Duane Allman, but just about anything Otis Gibbs discusses is interesting and worthwhile. I like his manner a lot.
I hope to get back to consolidating the Challenge posts, but I still can’t spend a lot of time sitting, and I can’t do that on my phone.

Don
Thank you for posting this, it will be my listen for this afternoon
Duane Allman has long been my favorite slide player and I still hold him in regard as the GOAT of slide guitar
Duane wasn’t just the greatest slide player but his improv was free flowing and powerful.
In this version of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, Duane plays the final solo of this tune – as you listen to it, keep in mind that Duane was only 24 years oldDuane Allman and Dickey Betts are my favorite American players of all time, the music that these two along with the other 4 members of the ABB have laid the ground work for all jam bands to follow

I thought of you when I saw this one. Otis Gibbs has a lot of interesting guests, usually singer-songwriters or country music, but his conversations make me want to hear the music. If there were someone like him interviewing blues musicians, I don’t think I could get much done.

Good find, Don, and I shall listen to it today. My Youtube algorithm has gotten kind of lazy lately. I seem to get a lot of stuff about American politics – even though I don’t even live there – and not so many good music suggestions. It’s definitely true that algorithms are trying to control our lives.

Sad is when people follow what an algorithm is showing them to make their decision instead of researching the facts of any issue…
Algorithms are nothing but the bird seed leading the bird to the trap – whatever issue that it is

Much appreciated Don. I’d love to visit the Big House in Macon GA some day

Seeing you mention the Big House, I just realized I should post Jontavious Willis’s new album here. He recorded it at Capricorn in Macon. It’s called WEST GEORGIA BLUES. I’ll post it tomorrow. It’s full of great guitar.

It took me till now to see this. He’s one of my favorite contemporary players. I did post the whole album here about a week ago.
