Good one. I was just thinking the other day how in the olden days people used to tune their guitars using a little “pitch pipe” thing that you blew into to get the pitch for each note. What ever happened to those? Oh, I see one from Amazon – $7, what a deal!

Hi John,
I still use a tuning fork!
I went into a very reputable music shop in the heart of Melbourne about 10-15 years ago and asked a young sales guy for a tuning fork. He had no idea what I was talking about and when I explained what it looked like and what it was for he said, ‘Are you joshing me man?’
Anyway, walked out with nothing!

Sounds like you found one eventually. Seem to have misplaced mine. That’s how it was done back in the 60’s and 70’s, before that I don’t know.

Does anyone know the difference between a rock guitarist and a jazz guitarist?
One plays 3 chords in front of 1000’s of people and the other plays 1000’s of chords in front of 3 people.
