Was away on a motorbike road trip to the north of Scotland last week, one of the coastal towns we stopped at( it had beer) was Ullapool.
This is where I show some pictures before i get to my main point..hahahaWhile having a wander around Ullapool I came across a poster for the ” ..”Ullapool Guitar festival”.. It has guitar sessions, open jams and workshops, I thought it might be of interest to any of the Scottish or U.K. members of Active Melody, Personally I am toying with the idea of going, I will have to sort some time off work out 1st though..
Oh yeah, I best tell you about the pictures..
1st one is Rannoch Moor before heading down into Glen Coe,
2nd is the Commando Statue at Spean Bridge, this is where the British Commando’s were 1st formed and did all their training..
And sea food and beer, Moretti beer at that..nectar from the Gods are these two items...Billy..

Hi Billy thanks for sharing your pics and the head up about the festival
I love Scotland and sometimes my friends and I come for a scotch distillery tour ( in 2015 we’ Been in portree)
Actually this year we planned to go in Kirkwall but in the last moment the project aborted..
I will suggest ullapool for next year..maybe they will repeat the festival
Ps I can’t believe you love birra Moretti, it’ Really good. have tested the other great Italian beer? Poretti?? 4 luppoli is amazing!!
It’s weird they a similar name but totally different.. lack of fantasy for beer name here 😂
Up Scotland
Take care

That looks like a really cool place! After 3 days of rain here in NZ, the blue sky looks great.

Ah you’re in my neighborhood then! If you drop by Inverness then let me know.
I would recommend doing the North Coast 500 if you’re up in Ullapool.

I forgot you were in Inverness Jordan, I am home and back at work now though…
I’ve done the 500 long before anyone thought of making money out of it …..Billy..

Hi Billy,
Thought you might be travelling as didn’t see any posts from you on the forum.
Beautiful countryside and great pictures. Now that Moretti beer……looks delicious.
It would be great if you could make the festival – not much space on the bike for a new guitar though……..

Hi Tim, have to say that it is a lovely beer, just as nice in draught as it is in bottle.
I’m thinking of booking the festival and just waiting on word back from Tommy my guitar buddy to find out if he wants to go too, Tommy doesn’t bike so it would be a car journey..My Daughter Jacqueline got me a ticket for the “Stones”concert in Edinburgh this Saturday(it was my 60th while I was on holiday), I am really looking forward to that.

Hey Billy,
I hope you can make the Festival.
Love the Stones. I’d love to see them play again. I have seen them a couple of times and they always put on a fantastic show. Hard to believe they are in their 70’s! Charlie Watts is 76 I think..

Yeah Tim they are all in their early to mid 70’s, Bill Wyman if he was still playing with them would be the elder at 81.. 1990 or 91 when I seen the play here in Glasgow, we enjoyed the concert that much that we flew to Paris the following Friday to watch it all over again..

Yes mate, we had a fantastic four or so days riding though those single track highland roads are hard work and we earned more that our fare share of beers…hahaha..Billy..

My guitar buddy was away working in Iran and only now have I been in contact with him..
So “Ullapool Guitar festival” is now hotel and events tickets booked for us.
All I have to do now is save enough money to enjoy long weekend away....Billy..
