        EP 453

Such a sweet jam. Excuse the audio, just iphone. Day 2 of playing with a pick.

Well done, Brian. I agree with Ken – I could have listened to more of that. Nice tone coming from your Tele.

I dunno, Brian – to me it looks like you’re just holding your pick and then doing the picking with your thumb. I reckon you should try holding it with just a bit of the tip sticking out. But then, if you Google how to hold a guitar pick, you will get several different opinions. I see you are using your pinkie as an anchor, which I’ve always done until about a month ago. Now, in my quest to learn fast tremolo picking, I’ve found that if I tuck my fingers up out of the way, kind of like a fist, I can tremolo pick much faster. At first it was kind of spastic, but now I’ve learned how to control the movements much better.

Nope. All with the pick no thumb.

I’ve since found resting my hand on or near the bridge is better – thus freeing the pinky.

Early days but I’m surprised how easy it is.

Beautifully played, Brian! Like David, I love the tone you’ve dialled in from your Tele – really nice 👌🎶
