Experience Hendrix concert

Scored tickets for March 15th to celebrate my birthday a few days earlier. Some amazing players will be there, playing my favourite music.

Seriously? How did they ever manage to get that many great musos together to play Jimmy Hendrix stuff? Surely they’re not all going to get on stage at once and play as a group.

But seriously, I love the people of Poland. Lots of beautiful people who do some really cool stuff. Here we have 7400 guitarists playing “Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix.

I know Jola was there recently, and I think that’s her on that dude’s shoulders holding her guitar up in the air. I love the announcer’s comment: “The organizers turned off the mics, and the crowd played on with increasing incompetence.”

For sure, that’s Jola! What a headbanger she is.
If you try to use different chord embellishments over each verse it’s actually pretty difficult at that tempo. Looks like most of the crowd opted for the “cowboy” chords. Love the enthusiasm, though.

I confidently predict you would get away with any embellishment you wish in that “band” John. Whether it be for one of the chords in Hey Joe or not 🙂.

But a good demonstration of the kind of sharp elbows that that staggering lineup will need to employ to carve out some stage space and cut through the mix.
Should be a fantastic night.
