Hi guys (and dolls…),
I’m orientating for a semi-hollow body guitar. At this moment I have 2 guitars on top of my list (budget 550-700€)
1) Epiphone Sheraton II pro (709€)
2) Ibanez AS93-VLS (629€)
3)……
Does anyone have experience with this guitars? I think Brian plays on a Sheraton..
Feel free to reply with advice, comments etc
The one guitar I regret selling was my Epiphone Sorrento (single-cut version of the Epiphone Casino ). So if the Sheraton is anything similar, it gets my vote. Although the thing I loved most about the Sorrento was that it’s a true hollowbody archtop, so it was capable of producing some of the sweetest, creamiest feedback I’ve ever heard. I’ve never had a guitar that felt so alive as that one.
There’s a smaller-body version of the Casino, the Casino Coupe — seems like it shares that same feeling of being alive (according to one of the French reviews)
Since you’re in Europe, I can highly recommend the Hofner Verythin CT — another great guitar (I sold this one because my back and shoulders much prefer small-body guitars now)
I’ve had a black Sheraton II just like the picture for about 7 years now. Great guitar. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncans, (but honestly it sounded good stock) and the knobs. The action is perfect and plays very nice. I haven’t had any problems at all and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. Don’t know much about the Ibanez…
