Single binding is a standard double binding on the more up market models no binding on studios.
Korean models from that era were generally pretty decent, condition and how it plays is what is important.

Thanks for that, Confirms what I was thinking. I did think at 1st it was a LP 100 and then the truss cover and the binding threw me off that scent.

A rescue guitar, that’s so kind and generous, Billy. Maybe I’ll see if I can get that by my better half.

It has the obligatory plectum marks going by 1st glances through the pawn shop window, I wouldn’t really expect to see anything less on a guitar of that age..price tag says £130 GBP, which isn’t too bad either.

Looks like mine Billy. I told the story last month in a post. You’ll want to change the tuners and get it set up properly. Mine is a 1999 model made in Korea and the truss rod needed adjusting. But I like it, I never liked the humbuckers on my Carvin, always used the neck pick up. But on the Les Paul I hear a sound that I’ve been missing. Can’t beat it for the price.

Your guitar is a “Delux” James, it is marked on the truss cover. The Pawnshop Epi says “Gibson” on the truss cover. I’ll try pop in to the pawn tomorrow and check it over, by the looks of the price reduction stickers on the headstalk it has been there a while.
Thanks for the input and info guys...Billy..

Billy,
Could be a good deal…make sure the neck is straight and all that stuff if you think it’s worth buying. Looks good from the little I can see.

I have been caught out a few times in the past because I have not done proper checks Tim, Have to be extra careful with set necks cos they can twist/warp/drop compared to “bolt ons”( these are my fav to work on tbh) which can be easily replaced.

here’s my old late 80s Korean Epiphone LP in action. I loved this axe and played the hell out of it for 30 yrs.
Half the price and half the weight of a Les Paul, but did the job.
Great action, easy to play, loved the feel and tone of it; perfect thru a Fender amp.only reason i sold it was deteriorating disc disease; swapped it for my light-weight hollow-body Tele.

I think Billy is smart to take pictures through the window because once he walks in there and picks it up it’s a done deal!

I just saw this Gibson posted for sale on FB. It looks identical to your Epi behind the window, Billy, just a little bit more pricey 🙂

It certainly is similar in looks Jola, Quite a price difference too and quite a price drop from New, I didn’t think that Gibson’s lost as much as that on the used market..Not sure if I will get back to the area of the city where the Epiphone is, seemingly others have planned a busy day for me..
