Hello I’m running a mac with sierra 10.12.2 and am trying to save the lesson mp3 backing tracks. I would like to have the mp3’s for use elsewhere and not only in my browser. Whenever i d-load a track it saves as a .mp3.webarchive. I want just a plain mp3 so i dont need a browser and can use them in an mp3 player etc. I tried deleting the .webarchive portion of the filename but sierra doesn’t like it and warns not to. The file will only open as a .webarchive . Where can I get just the mp3?
Thanks, in advance to anyone that responds.

I ran into the same problem with my iPhone. I downloaded them on my PC laptop. Any PC will do it just like that. Hope this helps you. I also need as much of the lessons available offline. I travel a lot, and wifi on a bus….. well it sucks.

Use Google Chrome instead of Safari. The file will download as an mp3, no problem. Many people on the forum have had the same problem. Just go to the App Store and download Google Chrome.

If you are a bit wary of the big brother thing then Google Chrome is said to be very tracker report to mum friendly. I don’t know how much this is true but it was said in the early days don’t use it if you want any degree of privacy.

Well unfortunately Firefox behaved the same way that Safari did. Would only save a web archive and goes to a browser window. Chrome let me save a straight mp3.

Also, I recall that if you click on, or touch, the audio timeline when you get the black screen, there is an option to download it as an MP3. I think I tried that a few times, but it’s just easier with Chrome.

On a Mac, hold down the control key and click on the “Download MP3” link – then choose the “Save As…” option to save it to your local hard drive.
