UPDATE: CONTACT BRIAN FOR ALL TSHIRT REQUESTS.
The surprise will only be for Challenge Champions who complete their 12 consecutive challenges by March 2018. All Challenge Champions after March 2018 will only receive a special Challenge Champion T-Shirt. Refer to this post for the surprise.
1. Must be a premium member to participate. Premium membership must be active throughout entire participation period.
2. Participants have (12) consecutive months to complete (6) challenges and post their playing on the Active Melody Forum as specified in each individual challenge posted by Bryce (Bryce-AKguitar). The time period starts when a member submits their first challenge response on the Active Melody forum. You can start at any time during the year. This opportunity will continue indefinitely.
3. If you complete (12) challenges in (12) consecutive months you will earn a special Active Melody T-shirt.
4. Members can only earn (1) T-shirt every 12 months.
5. Every 12 months the challenges submitted towards a T-shirt reset. (e.g. if you submit your first challenge response in January 2017, you have to submit (5) more challenges responses by January 2018 to qualify for a t-shirt. In February 2018 your challenges reset to 0.)
6. For your challenge submission to count towards a T-shirt, participates must submit a video of themselves playing each challenge piece on either Vimeo or Youtube no later than the listed challenge deadline period on the Active Melody Forum.
7. Once (6) or (12) challenges are completed, members are to email the following to Brian at brian@activemelody.com: Active Melody Username, List of Challenge Months Participated in, T-shirt Size, and Mailing Address with all applicable country codes.
8. T-shirts will be shipped to no later than 60 calendar days from confirmation of premium membership verification and challenge participation.

Bryce Is a video link such as drop box which I use or for that matter any other link arrangement excluded?
I have just heard you say in the video that Drop box is a no go seems a shame to exclude folk on what appears to be pretty narrow grounds any chance of the reasoning behind this rule?

Billy,
I wouldn’t count y’self out on this. Your last audio posting was really good so all we need is a video of you playing that telecaster in future postings and you’re good to go!

Hey nice bit of marketing strategy Bryce and a great incentive for members too!
I’m with John for the Nashville visit to jam with Brian; then I think how about trying to arrange some sort of AM Jamboree if any significant AM dates due. I realise a big financial commitment for members, but if plenty of notice such as one or two years I would try to arrange bit of a US guitar journey road trip to incorporate such an event.
Just a thought but from little acorns and might ignite some ahah, perhaps I’d also like that thoughts around the community?
Cheers Bri

Hi Brian just good to see you on the forum. I hope you are on the mend and had a great Christmas, Happy New Year. I made a similar suggestion some while ago and second the plan for an AM jamboree some time (The AMJam could be a name!). perhaps it could be set up around a Crossroads concert or similar or even a Blues Cruise maybe a group discount could be fixed up. There is a thought. All the Best JohnStrat

I’m with John and Bri, a trip to jam with Brian would be awesome and count me in. Am AM rendezvous would be equally exciting, and why not both?
I know this has been entertained in the past, perhaps time to make it happen.
Cheers,
Richard

@johnstrat: The reason I’ve excluded Dropbox and other cloud hosting services is:
1: Consistency. The vast majority of members use either YouTube or Vimeo for video hosting.
2: Dropbox video links do not embed in forum posts. They also do not embed on Facebook. If you would like to discuss this further you can email me or private message me.
@williammillar31hotmail-com: If it helps, your face does not have to be in the video, just your guitar.
@charjo: Now THAT would be a surprise!-Bryce

@williammillar31hotmail-com: Oh wow! Billy I did not mean that to be rude! I just meant that some members find it less daunting to video record just their guitar and not their face. But I hear you and will respect your wishes.

Sweet! It’s on, then!
One thing, though. I’m subscribed to the challenge thread, but I am not getting the updates in my email. I am not getting notification of the challenge for each month. How do I get notifications?
Jeff

@robotman: Jeff, if you click on the “Active Melody Guitar Lessons” Forum, you can subscribe to the whole forum. That means anytime someone posts a new topic in the forum you will get an email notification. See screenshot on where to click below. You can do this within each individual forum on Active Melody.

Wouldn’t it be simpler to just give a T-shirt to everyone who doesn’t cancel their subscription for 12 consecutive months?
-
December 16, 2018 at 9:00 pm #119327
I disagree with you on that Alex. Wouldn’t have the same meaning. To complete 12 monthly challenges in a row is a real accomplishment.

Maybe the European members can charter a private jet to visit the jamboree! Will solve the problem of obliged and risky stashing of our beloved guitars in the plane onto the suitcases also…
Anyway, J like both the t-shirt game and the jamboree idea!

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Hi – a little confused on this – 6 vs 12 submissions in 12 months.
Is this correct:
6 submissions in 12 months = Standard Active Melody shirt + self satisfaction
12 submissions in 12 months = Special Challenge Champion shirt + more self satisfactionThanks!
(FYI – I’m not submitting these just for a shirt, but for the self satisfaction and/or more self satisfaction)Duncan
-
February 7, 2018 at 10:54 am #92511
Yes, you are correct Duncan.
You only get 1 shirt per 12 month so if you are going for a challenge Champion Shirt, request your shirt at the end of 12 months.

Enjoy your new T..

I like to think of the gray ones as limited editions. They are quite collectible and rare.
It’s like getting the T-shirt of the band before they got famous.
Hang on to that shirt Billy! In a couple of year you can put it on eBay and retire! 😉

Bryce, do we have color choices? AND I’ve been very careful about the sizing choice but you know how T-shirts can be. What if I need to exchange my XL (OMG, I hope not) for an XXL? can I?

I think when we get them we should post a picture of it. Like Active Melody in Germany, America, China, England and so on.

I honestly don’t mind, if Brian is offering tee shirts to participants he does enough for meas it goes here.. in fact, I would rather he donate my shirt to a charity if I have the option.. either way , i’m grateful for the site and weekly lessons.. it was just the reminder thing in the March challenge.. should be updated..didn’t think Bryce would have anything to do with particpating challenge notifications either Doug, thanks, btw 304 fun lesson too.

I emailed Bryce in November and again in December but heard nothing. Perhaps he’s not helping out with the t-shirts anymore. I’ll try Brian this time.
