Hello,
Is there a way to progress through all the active melody lessons in a logical, progressive format (other than just beginner/ intermediate/ advanced, which I know the lessons can be sorted by).
By the way, I’m still not a member but am still considering….
Thank you.

I’m new here and started early January this year. I just picked the ones I like and have 3 on the go with different tempos. I also breeze at bit into the blues course picking up stuff. There are other lessons at the very bottom of the page where I found the blues course that is arranged in order.
Never live long enough to catch up to the weekly lessons plus the earlier lessons so as far as bang for the buck Active Melody is top notch.
You will get huge satisfaction once you get a lesson up to speed I’m sure -

Hi Ed H,
Thank you for your inputs.
Regarding the blues course, I’m still trying to figure out how to see it arranged in order.
The only thing I’ve discovered is to sort by “lead guitar lessons” or “Blues electric guitar lessons”, but even then, I don’t see a progressive ordering of lessons that appears.
I’m a slow decision maker, chanced on this site many months ago, but I am that much closer to taking the plunge…

good morning Jerry.I am guessing you are a beginner level but even if you consider yourself intermediate level,to answer your question , you just have to play the tunes you enjoy learning, this is search tool bar inside lessons category should narrow it down what you may want to choose for lessons here. the best advice I can give to any beginner.. what isn’t fun to learn pass it and try something you think you’d enjoy , can always go to a hard lesson after your skill level increases, you may decide to have fun trying the harder lessons after easier lessons.

I saved great free lesson for blues licks with a bit of theory explained.. like playing Clapton and BBking blues style licks,, in use a 145 progression, you learn how to mix these classic licks both in major and minor .. the majors off the one! the minors off the four.. really cool stuff i’m learning on the site I’m on! cheers!

With regard to the Blues Lead Course, there is a definite progression by design so it is best to start at position 1,lick 1.
As far as the weekly lessons, there are some lessons where Brian expanded upon what he did the week before… But in my opinion there isn’t a clear progression to these lessons. Personally I don’t view them as such- like @sunburst said, pick the lessons in the styles that interest you and start with that. You’ll develop a progression that caters to your taste. Hope this helps!

Aside from the beginner blues courses what goes around, comed around. There is lots of repetition in many lessons.
You will begin to see the overlap and things will begin to gel. Some lessons are easier than others but every one has a pearl or takeaway. You can master a lesson or just grab a pearl or two. Many of us come back time and time again and find something new in a lesson as we gain experience and knowledge.

Hi Jerry you would do well to sign up with AM it really is a great resource if you have some doubts why not give it a go for a month or two , I have little doubt you will elect to take up a premium membership in no time. If you are true beginner level there is stuff to get you going and making a great sound such as LEG022. I agree with all that has been said above, I am just at two years of membership and cant imagine dropping out anytime. I have learned a tun and think I am making as fast a progress here as I could anywhere being almost 65.
All the Best

Jerry
It is hard to determine an order of lessons, even in a one on one personal situation.
We all learn different skills at different speeds and that will vary over time as well. You may need work on picking or phrasing or ear training. I listen to lessons and see what they offer that I need or want.

There are little golden nuggets in all the lessons.
Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong.
