I learned this song on acoustic similar to the way Brian played it on the lesson video. However, I decided to give it a try on electric when I made this recording. This was definitely a fun lesson to do during a very cold weekend here in Colorado. I took some improv freedoms so did not follow lesson precisely when recording.
For those interested in gear like I am, I recorded it playing a Collings 290 DC with Throbak P90s into my pedal board and then into a Top Hat Puretone 18 (a Vox AC15 style amp). I really love this amp. For pedals I was lightly using a Kingsley Page TS and an Unobtanium Raw with a little Strymon reverb and delay. I used an SM57 and a Russian ribbon mic and blended to taste.
Thanks for listening!
I’m unfamiliar with this lesson but you made it sound good! I like the tone of the Collings with the p90’s.

That was a fantastic sound Dave. It is pretty clear you put a lot into your tone with all of that pedal selection And it shows.
I love this sound ! Well done !

Wow, that was great, really enjoyed it. I love the tone you’re getting from that setup and the recording sounds studio quality to me I’m going to take another look at that lesson, thanks!
Very nice playing.
