Both Fiona and I are profoundly shocked and saddened to hear this morning that Matt Long (of his own band, “Catfish”) has passed 😪. Irrespective of the fact Matt was an amazing and talented Guitarist, Singer and Composer – he was such a kind and gentle soul ♥️
For us two, Catfish are a significant part of our history. They were the headline act at the Blues Festival where Fiona and I met. Matt had time for everyone! He sat with us, at a later gig, when I asked him about his Guitar playing. You’d have to go a long way to find another nicer, or more generous!
To be taken to Spirit aged just 29 – he left behind some wonderful music. There’s so much more he could have treated us to – but his legacy is rich and will live on. God bless you, Matt ♥️♥️

I’m very sad to hear that. That’s way too young to be taken.
I only saw Matt and catfish once. He was supporting Kirk Fletcher and the two bands joined up for a jam at the end of the evening. That was a phenomenal amount of talent to be gracing a stage and you could tell how much they simply enjoyed playing. Matt signed a CD for me at the end of the evening. Still have it. -
