I just recently (3 months ago) had my second surgery for releasing the tendons which flex the fingers on my left hand. The first one was about 5 years ago on the middle finger and this recent one was on my index finger. The recent one was a bit more extensive as there was a cyst to remove as well, and I’m finding that recovery is slower and more challenging.
My surgeon told me that playing my guitar would be an excellent physical therapy technique, and since the first finger was involved, barre chords would be especially useful. I’ve found that my ability to barre effectively has now been significantly impacted, so I’m working on getting that back up to speed.
I just wanted to see if others have had this type of surgery and what if any suggestions you might have for getting it all back. Just cuddling up to AM has been a great help so far!
