Finally I have my own pedal board! Built by my husband.😊
It’s plugged into my Blackstar HT5 combo amp.
Now I have even more fun to play the guitar! 🎸😀
I am still experimenting with the order of the pedals.1. Compression sustainer
2. Blues Driver
3. Wah Cry Baby
4. Digital Delay
5. Cloudburst Reverb
6. 🤔
7. 🤔Which more pedals?

Very nice, Denise.
I think the wah pedal would go before the blues driver. Not sure if the wah should go before the compressor. My favourite effect is a vibe pedal, probably because of my unending admiration for Hendrix. I think a vibe would go before the delay. Some of them can get crazy expensive. Be careful you don’t get the overdrive bug and go looking for that perfect distortion sound.

Congratulations on your new board Denise, looks pretty comprehensive to me. I must add, I’m really envious of your Strymon Cloudburst Reverb, I could have endless fun with that.
I like your idea of publishing your pedal board, I think we would all enjoy seeing other member’s boards and maybe highlighting what pedals we get most enjoyment/benefit from and what order etc., what do you think?

Hi Denise,
That’s a cool board you guys put together! I built one back in 2020 and it sure makes it easy to access the sounds you want. The most expense was a $10 roll of velcro. The small delay is one of my favorites that was added a year later. It’s set like a slapback with only 1 repeat. I use the tube screamer more than the blues driver because it can be more of a boost than distortion. I am toying with getting a compressor pedal like yours.
Enjoy!

Looks nice! And I see you have similar pedals😊. Yes, the delay pedal (esp. with slapback) is my favourite, too. I think it sounds great on the Tele.

Nice one, Denise. I guess the only thing I would do different is put the wah pedal last on the board. BTW, do you know the trick of using a compressor plus overdrive to get huge sustain? Just google it, if you don’t.

Hi Steve, makes sense with the WAH at the end🙂.

I didn’t find anything on Google (maybe I didn’t do the search in English correctly). What do you mean exactly with the trick?

Try “compressor before or after overdrive”… you should get a lot to read!
In fact, you can do both. It all depends on the sound you’re after.

Guitar > compressor > overdrive. Turn off your other pedals while you experiment with the sustain. Use quite a bit of compression. That damps down the loud notes, so you then turn the volume back up to compensate. By turning the volume up, you are in effect turning up the quiet notes, which make them last longer = more sustain. Next the signal goes through the overdrive pedal. The overdrive pedal also amplifies the sound of a note as it fades away. So instead of the volume of a single note fading slowly away, it maintains a more constant volume until the moment it instantly dies. It’s long and loud, then instantly quits.

Thanks for your explanation, Steve. I will dive deeper into that.

Hi Denise, I’ll share my pedal board with you. I go directly into my Morley wah first, then the Tube Screamer (more for compression than distortion), then the MXR for distortion, and finally my looper. That seemed to work best for me. If your amp has an F/X loop that’s probably where the time based pedals like delay and reverb would go…but my amp doesn’t have an F/X loop so I don’t know for sure how it would sound (my amp has delay and reverb). Have fun!

Yes my amp has an F/X loop and I now have plugged my delay and reverb pedals into the send / return loop. Thanks for the tip, Joe 👍.

You use can the additional volume / sustain you can get from the compressor to drive the Blues Driver even harder
Nice group of pedals solid start to a pedalboard looking at mine I’d add some form of modulation boss do a multi version that covers flange chorus rotary etc. md200 there are other makes that do a similar grouping

I designed this pedal board to serve both my acoustic and electric guitars.
The relevant pedals are switched on/off depending on whether I’m using an Acoustic or Electric guitar and connected to my Fender Acoustic Junior or Boss Katana Amp.The MXR 6 Band EQ pedal allows me to manage the frequencies and achieve a better output tone from my Martin.
The JHS Reverb is a super pedal for the money but not in the same calibre as the Strymon Cloudburst.
The looper and foot switch is connected when required etc.Just out of interest, I recently sold my Digitech Trio+ Band Creator as I never did achieve the types or quality backing tracks I was after.
1 Boss Compressor/Sustain
2 MXR 6 Band EQ
3 TC Electronic Body Rez
4 Boss Digital Delay
5 JHS 3 Series Reverb
6 MXR 78 Distortion
7 Boss RC3 Looper1Spot Pro Power Supply

That’s a nice pedal board😊. I like the way you have arranged the pedals.
Actually I’ve never seen you play an electric guitar 🤔. I guess you own a Gretsch hollowbody?More Blues!

Thanks Denise, yes I play a GnL ASAT Tele, I have only posted two challenges with it over the years. However it is a mere shadow of the 1961 Gretsch 6120 (Chet Atkins Hollow Body) I owned and played back in the day. Certainly one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever owned and I wish I still had it.
Out of interest Denise, have you watched the Anderton’s video on your Strymon Cloudburst Pedal, they said it was ‘The Most Inspiring Guitar Pedal Ever.

Richard, I just watched the Anderton’s video. And it makes me want to play the Classical guitar…with the ensemble mode of the London Symphony Orchestra😀.
I think you should order one or drive to Anderton’s and get that pedal!
It really sounds amazing.

Hi Denise,
Hope all is well.
I’m about to upgrade my pedalboard very soon. I have a small board with:
MXR Carbon Copy Delay
Boss Blues Driver 2
MXR Micro Amp (for instant boost)The Rockboard I have only fits 3 pedals so I’m looking at getting a bigger one.
I have a Boss RC-1 Looper and an Electro- Harmonix Silencer that I want to add and that’s why I need a larger board.
If you haven’t already got one I’d consider a Looper.
All the best!

A second drive pedal can be great, like a timmy, odr1, or tscreamer, eq pedals are a great way to boost, and chorus is still a winner, and flanger is fun.
Great board enjoy. -

Hi Denise , that’s a smart new pedalboard, the compressor looks interesting I’ll have to check that one out , lots of options for additional pedals
Tremolo , drive, eq , looper etc so many out there as you probably know .
Heres mine I’ve kinda gone down the boss route but am always on the look out for something different, I swop a couple out for either electric or acoustic.-

Your board with the Boss pedals look nice and I think these are good quality. The Tremolo looks interesting, I might get one, too.

Nice looking board Denise! Knowing your love of Rockabilly and country/blues you should check out the JHS Milkman pedal. Has a really nice clean boost and a cool slapback delay, two pedals in one!
