Description
I get requests from time for more examples of turnarounds so I thought I would put together another turnaround lesson to give you 3 new ones that can be transposed to any key. Also, if you haven’t already done so, be sure to check out the first guitar lesson on turnarounds that I did a few years ago. I have also included 3 jam tracks (each one in a different key) so that you can practice playing them in different positions on the neck. If the interest is there, I can make more turnaround lessons, giving even more examples.

Great fun learning these turnarounds Brian. Inspirational. Your “asides” are alsointeresting, eg deviate slightly from the riff and we have a bit of Chuck Berry.

I struggled with the timimg a little on the 3rd turnaround, and almost gave up on it. However, during a sudden coffee break, I ‘heard’ the lick in my head. Picking up my guitar, I nailed the thing on my next attempt!
(Used this technique a lot during your lessons, but I find I’m going thru an awful lot of coffee these days..!)

Hello Brian,
Can you tell me the key on the turnaround NO.1? G or E blues key? If the last chord is D7, I guess the key should be G.
But the scale you used in this turnaround looks like cdE WE

I would appreciate if Brian would play all 3 licks in key of E, then teach us how to transpose them!
Paul Yang says
Sorry my final input words was wrong.
I want to say:
But the scale you used in turnaround No.1 looks like E key blues scale.
Thank you Brian!
Brian says
Paul, you can do that turn around in any key. In the lesson I show you how to do it in the key of G - but hopefully through the videos in this lesson, you’ll know how to transpose it to whatever key you want 🙂

Has anyone been having problems playing turnaround 3, it keeps freezing a few second into the start then flashes a message with a playback fault
