My Sister just passed away from a hard fought 2 1/2 year battle from liver cancer. Her picture is on the table behind me. This is EP 414 of Brians. I’m partial to slow blues and she was a blues fan. I haven’t submitted in quite a while and am a little rusty. Best to all of the AM family.

What a beautiful tribute to a pretty lady! Well played, John – obviously lots of feeling put into that. ❤️
My late wife passed with Pancreatic, then Liver, cancer – the pain and sickness was awful to witness! I believe that, like your sister, they are both grateful that’s all gone now; and they can soar with the angels and look after us!
God bless you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all ❤️

I am very sorry to have to mourn this loss, John. You played really heartbreaking and with a lot of feeling you gave the track an appropriate mood. Yes, very moving.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Well as someone who lost both parents to cancer I can relate – very sorry for your loss John.
This was really very nicely and expressively played Loved the little touches you put on this one – those mournful sustained bends really do capture the mood of this very well. Having done this one, I know it was hard to get the timing down nicely and you were spot on with that.
Fantastic work.

John, she will surely be at your side always with your music for her. Hopefully the grief will slowly be overcome with the good lifetime memories you shared with her and be powerfully therapeutic in your recovery – such as it can be. I had a lifelong friend – from the second grade until he was struck by debris/shrapnel as he walked across the street in NYC when the first 9/11 plane hit its target. The anger I felt at his murder tormented me for 2 years til God made me realize I was just hurting myself. Slowly, over time – I recovered 55 years of great memories of him that live today as we bounced off of each other – becoming experts on 1950s -70s music….
I am 76 and trying to pick up where I left guitar >50 years ago never playing up on the neck.. just the std C Am F G D E and B7 – not really getting anywhere with them on frets 1-3 🙁 I bought a new Fender Strat American Performer a few weeks ago and am teaching my fingers that they can no longer afford to be like room temperature butter. 🙂
John, Let the good memories permanently flow along with your slow blues accompaniment and be thankful for the years you had. She will hear every note – and expect excellence – and you are clearly on that track.
Cheers, Cal
