This lesson is exactly the type of thing I wanted to learn when I joined active melody. I learnt a lot about CAGED from it. I tried to slow it down after my last post, which felt quite rushed. Comments welcome as always 🙂
(Apologies for the video coming to an abrupt stop)
**Quick Guitar Story**
This Squire Tele was the first guitar I ever owned, bought new in 2002. I thought it had been lost due to house moves and me not playing for many years, I hadn’t seen it for around 12 years. It turned up a few months ago when my parents moved house and it was wrapped in a bin liner in their loft. Some new strings and a clean up and it doesn’t sound bad at all!Cheers

You picked the right style to study Dan. I think you absolutely nailed it. Sounds like slowing down was a good trade off…excellent touch and feel.

Hi Dan,
I’ve been working on that one, too. I can see what great care you’ve taken with the timing, and dynamics and how you “spank” those chords. The limiting factor for me is how quickly I can play that darn fast lick. I must have tried about 8 different fingering and picking options. Great work!

great job, Dan. I’m also considering 334 for the challenge but it’s not easy; you nailed it, with a lot of expression and attitude, and great tone.

Well played Dan. Your TC looks cool and has a great sound. Well done.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Thanks everybody for your comments so far. It’s great to have a place to share progression and learning. To those considering this lesson, definitely go ahead with it. If nothing else you’ll learn that very cool (and hard) lick.

Nice work, Dan! That old Tele sounds great and is an excellent story! I had a similar thing happen to me with a squire strat. I have been working on this lesson as well, but only got about half way through it. I can tell that you really nailed the overall vibe of this lessons and your timing was spot on. Well done!

Dan I was excited when I found your post (on page 4) cuz you can flat out play and I was expecting something good from you and of course you did not disappoint. I really enjoy listening to you play. Know that you are inspiring others as well. I have to look at this lesson and apply it to where I am in my guitar journey. PS. I just bought a Squire Tele last month. Love it.
