So I recently downloaded version 5.99… Is version 6 available as an update? I’m still in the evaluation process, haven’t paid anything yet.

Yes.. Actually, the way it works is when you pay for a license, it is good through two full versions. So, if you by it as v6, you are good through version 7.99. I bought as version 5, so, mine is good through 6.99. It takes a few years to get to those versions too, so, you would probably be good for the next 3 or 4 years..
the install keeps your settings too, so, no worries there.

Well I ain’t atti reaper anything.. I am just a beginning once again after having issues in the past trying to learn software to create record export to share my originals stored in my head lol
I recently purchased a focusrite interface and what free bundled DAW softwares programs it came with are Ableton live 10 lite and protools first
so far checked both but than my old computer didn’t have the cpu and wasn’t happy with the two i downloaded only had 4 gig .. it was just to slow an old internet computer
Called my brother who is a genius with computers.. he built me a new desktop for the CPU PROCESSOR capacity RAM ETC.
I am now learning as a beginner about all the features and midi effects plug ins all that stuff from this guy ..he seems to make good “Gamer songs” lol
Man all these hip hop instruments ..the genre is not easy to find so far.. I am learning watching tutorials for Ableton live for now to get a general idea what any DAW can do for my practicing and sharing my presentations.
every early morning I am watching a few youtubers tutorials this way won’t be wasting time sitting on the computer with a guitar trying to figure out all the stuff I know will just take time…like third party plugins etc.
i’m hoping today I can activate my usb yamaha thr10c to my ableton live.. I should think ableton will add it for access

Here is another youtube tutorial.. I just started getting into this morning.. hoping I get somewhere with this before i turn on the desktop sit down with a mug of coffee soon see if I can get somewhere with Ableton live 10
I honestly have no idea if it is right for me but do know it will take few months at the rate I can tolerate only few these tutorials at a time.. I figure it will sink in after several more hours but only like watching each morning a little bit .. i don’t want my cpu brain to overheat lol..reviewing these tutorials little bit each morning till it all makes sense.
this one seems easy to follow

What is the best way to import the audio track from a video into reaper. Can you import the video or do you have to convert to mp3 before importing?

You first off need to be using the 64k version of reaper, from there it is just a matter of selecting import, and the select the video, from there you will have video and audio, to save the audio select render and save to what file type you want, mp3, wav or whatever else.
