I have been talking myself out of buying an Electro Acoustic guitar since I started learning how to play, Tonight though I gave in and phoned an advertiser on Gumtree( Craigs list type of thing) and set off in the car to try it out..
Good and Great things have been told to me about “Vintage” branded guitars with their Strat’s being held in very high regard here in Scotland.
As soon as I picked this guitar up everything felt right that I wasn’t even going to haggle over the guys price, Guitar carries a couple of war wounds but I have come to accept that these things happen to well used and played instruments.
So some pictures. Only thing I would change and that it the capstan pins on the Grover tuners as these pins look short, No idea how old this guitar is, Korean made though...Billy..

I don’t know much about the brand but from your pictures that looks like a damn fine guitar. Hope to see and hear you playing it soon.

Thanks Richard, I have been looking at acoustic amps and one or two have popped up which have mic sockets so there might be a song being sung…hahaha

Congrats Billy. Lucky you. If everything feels right from the first moment… great. I didn’t know Vintage also make acoustics. And yes, I hear very positive things about them, too. Looking forward to hearing you play it.

Do I see the strap mount on the right side in the cutout? Seems like that would conflict with your fingers as you get higher up on the neck. I’d probably move it over to the left side somewhere. Or just take it off, if you never use a strap for your gigs.

Hi Steve, It has been added on by the previous owner.. Johnny Cash type, so I reckon he never played that far up the neck, If it is a problem then I will move it to the base of the heel.

Billy,
Congrats! Looks like a pretty guitar. I like the fret marker inlays and the sound hole decoration. Is this a dreadnought size? Have you plugged it in yet?
Looks like a good buy.
Looking forward to hearing it.

Morning Tim,
Not a dreadnaught style, I think( and I’m going on looks here) that this guitar is based on Gibson’s SJ 200 and has a nicer rounder shape than dreadnaughts have.
Not as yet plugged the guitar in, normally when I buy me s guitar then I strip it down and do a proper set up but this one needs nothing done, heck I even like the strings the fella put on…at some point today or tonight I’ll run her through reaper so I can hear how she sounds...Billy..

Sweet looking guitar, Billy. Looks like it’s in pretty great shape, too. You’ll spend many happy hours dialing in the tone on that EQ…

Morning Mark,
Bares a couple of chips and scratches but nothing to be overly concerned about, when I first started buying guitars they had to be pristine because good condition meant they were looked after, now I see those with war wounds as an instrument that has been played and used, that I think all adds the the character of the guitar..
I have no idea about the EQ thing, so this is going to be quite a learning curve...Billy..

Nice guitar Billy. I can hear you playing some Johnny Cash tunes on it.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Congrats Billy! That looks like a really nice guitar. I’m sure you will enjoy playing it inside or outside in a mirror. 😳😉😆
I haven’t heard of the Vintage brand until Keith’s Strat shootout post. The Vintage brand Strat was my favorite of them all.
I look forward to hearing it once you have time to record.

Hahaha, thanks Bryce. Of late I’ve been trying to do an acoustic version of “Simply beautiful” so I’m thinking of doing a sound bite using that to hear how this guitar records..
Isn’t there a song called “In a medow”?....Billy..
